“Forever” é uma canção do álbum “Hot in the Shade”. Ele chegou ao número 8 sobre a Billboard Hot 100 chart, tornando-se o primeiro da banda americana 40 Top única vez que “I Was Made for Lovin ‘You” alcançou o número 11 em 1979. Foi o sétimo da banda e, até à data, último Top 20 única dos EUA. Ele também alcançou o número 17 em trilhas da Billboard Hot Rock Mainstream. A canção foi co-escrita por Paul Stanley, guitarrista / vocalista e cantor / compositor norte-americano Michael Bolton, que estava então no auge de sua popularidade comercial, e com quem o guitarrista Bruce Kulick tocou anterior para o Kiss.

Musicalmente, “Forever” é uma balada. Ela começa com Stanley cantando sobre uma introdução de guitarra acústica, com a banda completa que entram para o refrão primeiro.

“Forever” foi lançado como um vídeo da música que recebeu airplay pesado em MTV, alcançando a posição # 1 no canal de vídeo é “Vídeos mais solicitados” mostrar várias vezes. É talvez o beijo de vídeo mais discreto lançou, como mostrou a banda (então constituída por Stanley, Gene Simmons, Bruce Kulick e Eric Carr) tocando a música em uma sala vazia.

Apesar do sucesso de “Forever”, Hot in the Shade se tornou o álbum do Kiss primeiro a deixar de ser disco de platina pela RIAA desde 1982 do Criaturas da Noite.
